It is our desire to serve the church through high quality audio presentation. We believe that this can be done in a myriad of ways, but it must start with the proper heart attitude. Without a desire to serve the body, we would just be one more resounding gong or clanging cymbal. Why is sound important? Without hearing the word, it is impossible to be affected by it. While only the Spirit can enlighten the heart of the hearer, a poor quality signal can certainly detract from the ability of the hearer to comprehend. Often times the equipment is not the problem, but the operation of the equipment is confusing.

Our name, Sound Mind Studio is taken loosely from 2 Timothy 1:7. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (NKJV). I have always appreciated this scripture for how it has emboldened me to flesh out my faith while loving those around me. The fact that I have loved music and the art and science of sound for my entire life has led me to find a way to express this as a service to the body of Christ. My perception of the words sound mind is that this phrase represents both the physical nature of sound as well as the desire to be sane as a musician. These two do not always go hand in hand! Music without the proper focus on the Creator of music can become merely worship of self, leading to a great number of self destructive behaviors.
